GOtv Nigeria is set to stir up competition with the addition of new station to its bouquet. The network with a commitment to deliver entertainment to African families has added the newly launched music television, Planet Radio TV (PRTV) to its bouquet of offerings. The station is expected to deliver to its listening cum viewing audience international movies, series, music as well as local productions and content.
GOtv Nigeria General Manager, Elizabeth Amkpa, said that PRTVs arrival on GOtv is another example of the vast quantity and continuing quality that GOtv brings to subscribers. “We are extremely proud to have PRTV on our platform. It is a channel that has proven the power of multimedia for content and it is growing phenomenally.
“With leading music personalities and programming, PRTV is a perfect match for the diverse and compelling content that GOtv offers Nigerian subscribers. Both brands are growing in strength, footprint and offering, and we are certain the channel will be popular with our viewers,” she emphasised.
PRTV is an international Radio-TV station based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Founded in 2011, the channel is the brainchild of Planet Image Productions and its format consists of African and international content. The channel primarily caters for globally-connected youth and targets the working class between the ages of 18 to 35.
CEO of PRTV, Mabel Mabaso, said the channel’s arrival on GOtv Nigeria would introduce the channel to a new audience that is all about setting trends and defining itself within the new globalised community. “Our content is 80 per cent African and 20 per cent international - a ratio which we believe speaks to the inspirational and traditional aspects of viewers. The ever-increasing rate of globalisation and migration means that content has to be live, interactive, entertaining, on different media and most importantly, relevant. PRTV brings this to viewers and also delivers a mind-blowing audio-visual experience.”
PRTV is available on both GOtv and GOtv Plus, from August 14, on channel 73.
This month, GOtv has been launching new channels non-stop with the coming of Telemudo and PRTV. The excitement continues with more exciting programmes lined up for the rest of the month. GOtv boasts of 39 digital channels on its GOtv Plus bouquet and 28 on the GOtv bouquet.
