Madrid Gives up on Bale

Real Madrid have cooled their interest in Tottenham's Gareth Bale for this window at least, according to Spanish paper Marca.
It appears that Bale will not force an exit from Tottenham, and is set to stay for at least another season at White Hart Lane.
Marca claims that with Tottenham refusing to sell and Bale happy to stay put, Madrid now view the move as impossible to pull off.
“After receiving yet another ‘no’ from Tottenham, Florentino Perez and his team have decided to call it a day and now see the signing of Bale this summer as impossible," the paper reported.
The information seems solid: Marca has incredibly close ties to Real Madrid, and the level of detail in their claims seems unlikely to be mere speculation.
Real have concluded that the amount it would take to prise Bale away - a reported £100m - is simply too much, and the only way to drive it down would have been through the player expressing his intention to leave.
"Gareth Bale is not Luka Modric," the report explained.
"The Welshman is doing practically nothing to force a negotiation and give options to Real Madrid to seal his signing... Modric adopted a different stance [during his move in the summer of 2012] which ended up benefiting Real Madrid.
"There are negotiations in which clubs close all the doors and this is one of those."
Bale is apparently showing admirable loyalty to the club who plucked him from Southampton for £7m and kept faith with him to the point that he has evolved into one of the world's top footballers.
