Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Zambia afraid of Eagles–Fengor

Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Zambia afraid of Eagles–Fengor
Norwegian-based Nigerian midfielder, Fengur Ogude, has boasted that Super Eagles have the quality to withstand any competition from star-studded countries such as Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire or the defending champion, Zambia, parading the best players in the world, emphasising that they should rather be afraid of the Eagles.
Fielding questions from Daily Sunsports before the team’s departure to Faro, Portugal for the final pre-tournament preparation for the South Africa 2013 Nations Cup, the Warri Wolves’ former combative utility player, assured Nigerians that the Eagles were ready to deliver. Reacting to how far the Super Eagles could go in the tournament, Fengor replied: “I believe we have the players that can go as far as lifting the trophy.
We also have quality technical crew to put us in the right shape to do so, but we cannot do it without hard work and divine support. “If God says it will be our year to lift the trophy, we will do that, but otherwise it will be impossible to achieve the feat. As footballers, we are not supposed to be scared. We don’t need to even be afraid of any country participating in the tournament. I was asked if we are not afraid of the big countries, but I replied that we are not. “We don’t look at the quality of other countries because we equally have good players in the Super Eagles team.
We had the same preparation and all I can say is that the pitch battle will decide the better side. Why should we be scared of them. “Yes, every team is a threat, but we are also a threat to them. In fact, all the countries that qualified for the tournament is a big threat to one another. So, Ghana or Cote d’Ivoire should be the ones to be afraid of us,” he boasted. On the readiness of the team, he noted: “I think we are very ready. Everybody is working hard and doing well in training. I can tell you that each of the players is determined to prove himself and justify the confidence the technical crew reposed in them.
As for me, I want to give my very best in servng my country. “I want to put in everything to ensure that we go as far as we can in the tournament. I had a good training with my teammates throughout our camping in Abuja. Some of them are very good and I’m really impressed with their form,” he noted.
