And today I learnt that my friend,brother and nigga passed away. I write this in class,trying to fight back tears from my eyes,trying not to believe it,trying to think its all some expensive joke. Trying not to let my coursemates see my tear-filled eyes. I can’t believe it,in fact its impossible.
Olamilokun Michael Itunu and I shared a friendship of over 5years,a friendship that grew into a bond; a bond of brotherhood. Words cannot express how I feel right now because I don’t even know how I feel right now.
I remember going through Richie’s blog and his revelations for the new year. I remember the number3 on the list was for Itunu,it read thus: “Rane will get back. Better than before. He deserves even more”
But Rane didn’t get back although I feel he deserved more. Am not one of those people whose loved ones are taken from them prematurely and begin to question God. Rather I pray to God to accept his soul into His kingdom.
My heart goes out to Itunu’s family. Only God can give you the grace to bear this irreplaceable loss.
